You do NOT need to be a CPA, EA or tax professional to attend this seminar. It is open to the public. If you don't need to earn CPE, then the below does not apply to you.

How does a preparer know that they are taking CE from an IRS-approved provider? (revised 9/14/16)
They should look at the public listing. Approved providers may also show the "IRS Approved Continuing Education Provider" logo. In addition, all providers are issued a Provider Number from the IRS. Your certificate should also contain a program number.
The "public listing" as posted by the IRS can be found on the page of IRS FAQs.
